Note to Self

Note to Self is a private place to save text and supported media for your own account.

Encryption model

  • The app derives a notes key locally from the account master key behind your 12-word phrase.
  • HKDF uses a Note-to-Self-specific domain label, separate from messaging, Vault, and backup keys.
  • Text and media are encrypted on your device before cloud sync.
  • Buzzio stores ciphertext and cannot derive the key from your Buzzio ID.
  • There is no extra recovery key: restoring the same account from its phrase restores the ability to decrypt notes.

This is account-bound encrypted storage, not a 1-to-1 conversation and not a shared room.

Use and limits

  1. Open Me (You) / Note to Self.
  2. Save text or supported media.
  3. Enable the cloud-sync option where offered.
  4. Restore the same Buzzio account on another device to decrypt locally.

Cloud sync and media quota may be Premium-gated. Current quota and store UI are authoritative.

Losing the 12-word phrase and all usable devices means Buzzio cannot recover the notes.
