Move to a new phone
Order of operations matters. You can wrap backup with the 12-word phrase or a separate backup recovery key.

Steps
- On the old phone (if still available): confirm you have the phrase written down; if backup uses a 64-character key, note that too.
- Install Buzzio on the new phone.
- Choose restore / sign in (not “create new account”).
- Enter Buzzio ID + 12-word phrase.
- If chats are empty: unlock an encrypted backup (phrase wrap is automatic when that was chosen; otherwise enter the backup recovery key).
- Allow notifications if you want wakes.
Importing on the new phone signs out the old phone. When that device is online (or next comes online), Buzzio deletes that account’s keys from its vault. Other accounts stored on the old phone are left alone. You do not need to wipe the old phone by hand for this identity.
If the old phone is off, the wipe runs the next time that app is opened. If the app was already deleted, the keys are already gone — Buzzio does not keep sending push wakes.
Common outcomes

Multi-account
If you use multiple accounts in the vault, restore each identity carefully. Switching accounts does not merge key custody. See Account and backup.
